About Us
Anna Veilankanni’s Matriculation Higher Secondary School is maintained by Annai Veilankanni’s Educational & Cultural Society under the able stewardship of Dr. S. DEVARAJ, Founder & Correspondent.
Motto:
“Education through service and service through education” is the motto of our school. Our school is recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu under the Matriculation pattern. Class Timings: 8.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.
Aim & Objective
To build up the overall personality of the students entrusted. To emphasize, the mastery of academic materials through communication skills and maintaining academic excellence. Maximum opportunities will be provided in the school to encourage initiative, self-reliance, and leadership qualities. To inculcate good habits and traditional Indian values like honesty, loyalty, charity, truth, and respect for elders among the students.
Classes Conducted
The school emphasizes activities to promote the holistic development of the Child’s Personality. Pre K.G., L.K.G.
& U.K.G. – with amenities for the physical & mental growth of the kids with the latest scientific play materials.
Std. I to X – syllabus adopted to prepare the students for the Samacheer Kalvi Examination. Std.XI & XII – as per State Board syllabus.
Sports Achievements
We consider sports as part and parcel of education. Our school teams participated in the Zonal Sports Meet. The Junior Boys excelled by winning in Ball badminton, Throw ball, Hockey, Tennikoit matches. The Senior boys brought back cups by winning in Ball badminton, Throw ball, Hockey, Table Tennis, and Tennikoit matches. The super senior boys added another diamond in the crown by emerging winners in Ball badminton, Tennikoit, Table Tennis, both doubles and singles.
Not to be outdone, the Junior and Senior Girls teams won the Ball Badminton and Hockey matches, the Super Senior Girls won the Ball Badminton, Hockey and also the Table Tennis doubles and singles.
At the District level, Junior boys won the Throwball and Ball Badminton matches, Senior boys won the Tennikoit and Throw ball matches and the Super Senior boys won the Tennikoit and Throw ball matches. The Junior and Senior teams of Girls emerge as runners in the Hockey match.
The crowning glory was that after overcoming tough competition at the Divisional Level K. Sriram of Std XI and Vishal of Std VIII got selected to participate in the State Level Gymnastics Championship. Sriram has won 5 Gold Medals and a Silver Medal at State Level for his performance and was eligible to move on to the National Level. It is a matter of pride that K. Sriram, proudly led the Tamil Nadu State team, holding the Flag high, at the Mini Olympics held in Thiruvananthapuram on the 30th of January this year. We wish him further success.
